Keyword Research is essential to your freelancing or business. This is the key step in optimizing your website and social media accounts. And, if you know how to do it properly, it will be your competitive edge over other freelancers.

Keyword Research is helpful to you:

  • Branding

  • Search Engine Optimization

  • Social Media Marketing

  • Content Marketing

  • E-Commerce Setup

  • Video Marketing

Here is a #free training on how you can conduct one using three free tools. It will show you the walkthrough on how keyword research is being done. And how to identify the keywords to be used in leveraging your brand’s online presence.

Conducting Keyword Research

In conducting the keyword research, you will be needing the following data: Platform (that you’ll use): Google Location: Australia Brand: to all VAs Purpose: To be found in google, hired as VA from potential clients in Australia

Tool# 1. KeywordTool.io

KeywordTool is a free online keyword research instrument to generate relevant long-tail keywords for any topic. It uses Google Autocomplete, a feature used in Google Search aiming to speed up the searches. Assuming you are a virtual assistant and you would like to be hired by Australian clients. The first thing that you need to do is to change the location of the target market (clients) which is Australia. Then, try to think of the possible keyword that the clients will type when they will search for VAs. For example, you will use the keywords Cheap and quality VA. The results being shown are limited because they only have 1 result. So, we will broaden the keyword, and let’s change it to Virtual Assistant. The tool will show you part of the results but, you can make use of it already. Check on the keywords shown, and extract which best relate you and your brand.

2. SemRush

SEMrush is another keyword tool which is like an all in one toolbox for SEO. This tool not only produces a list of keywords, but it shows many specific keywords that your competitors are already using. SemRush uncovers long-tail keywords. It gets yearly keyword trends, access to the complete keyword research toolkit and keyword difficulty analysis and organic traffic insights. The same with the first tool that you used, you will enter the keyword, and change the location. Afterwards, it will show a higher volume of keywords. In choosing the effective keyword, always go for lower competition but higher results.

3. Small SEO Tools

This composes a complex set of freelancing tools. Aside from other tools like text content tools, design tools, backlink, and website management tools, website tracking tools, domain tools, Meta tag tools and any other tools, it has a total of thirteen keyword tools. The same with the previous tools, you will need to enter the keyword which is Virtual Assistant, and then the location- Australia. The platform did not show anything different in fact, some of the keywords suggested were already provided on the other tools that we used. Extract keywords that you think are useful to your brand. After you finished the research, check on the extracted keywords and identify which are competitive. How will you know which of the keywords are good and effective? Test these keywords by typing it in Google search. And if the keywords are seen in Google Keywords Suggestion then, keywords are good to start with. Here are other keyword tools that you might want to check:

  • Ahrefs Keyword Explorer

  • Google Keyword Planner

  • KWFinder

  • Long Tail Pro

  • Majestic

  • Keyword Tool

  • Serpstat

  • Moz Keyword Explorer

  • SpyFu

I hope this training will help you a lot in optimizing your digital presence.

We often use Zoom for our online training, meetings, and calls. This app was launched in April 2011 but it gained its popularity more during the pandemic. Unlike other apps, Zoom has significant features that make a Zoom experience meaningful. It is one of the best video conferencing apps that allow you to experience a virtual face-to-face meeting. Have you set up and optimized your Zoom account well?

Here are tips and tactics on how to set up and optimize your Zoom account effectively.

How to set up your ZOOM Account

There are two ways you can use Zoom, either through a web app or using your mobile phone. To create your account, you need to go to Zoom’s signup page then create an account by inputting your email, or you can simply sign in using your Google or Facebook account, you will then fill out some needed information. When you create using your email, you will be asked to verify your account by clicking the link they have sent in your email. Voila! You now have a Zoom account!

How to Start a Meeting

Using your web app, sign in using your email and password or, your Google or Facebook account. And if you want to start a meeting immediately, you will click on the orange “New Meeting” button. A video window will pop-up and you will be asked if you want to use your computer’s audio and if you want to test the speaker and microphone. To invite people to join the meeting, click the little arrow in the “Participant’s” button, a window will be opened where you will invite, and send an email with the meeting’s URL and password. On the other hand, if you’re using your mobile app, you will only tap the “New Meeting” and then you will choose whether you want to start it with the video on and whether you want to use your personal meeting ID, and then tap “Start a Meeting.” And if you want to invite others to join the meeting, you will tap “Participants” and again, tap the “invite” button. Afterwards, you will be able to send an invite message through Messenger, Messages, or Gmail.

How to Optimize Your Zoom Account

There are three areas to optimize your Zoom account namely video settings, filter and virtual background. In the video settings you can adjust if you want to have HD or not HD, you can mirror the video (that shows the whole picture as is), touch up appearance into smooth looking, and adjust the light if your light is a little bit low. Also, there are other preferences in filters like if you want the participant’s name on the video, if you want to show your video when you join the meeting, setting the audio and many more. In terms of virtual background, there are so many available virtual backgrounds you can choose from. But, you can also upload your own choice of background and use it. Different setups are also available like makeup- putting eyebrows, changing the colour of your lips, adding a moustache and many more. Zoom is our number one platform that is being used. We hope this blog helps you. To learn more, you can check this video here.
